Jack and Shelby got married two weeks prior to this honeymoon photo session. They were a part of the train derailment in Montana that killed 3 people. Their train flipped halfway and they said if they had been just a few cars up it would have been a total flip. They shared how some kind family from Chester, MT took them in giving them a place to stay and a ride back to Kalispell. They said “everyone in Montana is so nice.” Because of the derailment, Shelby did not have the wedding dress she planned for but was able to get one from Mimis Bridal in Kalispell. Their attitude in all of this was incredible and I know if they can whether these storms, they can whether anything that comes their way. In case you are wondering, this session was in late September in Glacier National Park, Montana.
Read MoreKara contacted me a few days before her wedding. The photographer she had booked cooked make her flight because of COVID cancellations. When she started telling me about her intimate wedding in Polebridge Montana at SUNRISE, I knew I was going to do anything to clear my schedule and be there! I left my house long before dawn, turned on a good podcast for the partly dirt road travel to this gorgeous meadow nestled beneath jaw-dropping mountains. As I got to know Ken and Kara, I could tell we were going to have a lot of fun exploring. After catching the sun at just the right time for the ceremony, we stuck around for some family photos and amazing pastries from The Northern Lights Saloon You have to check out this bouquet Kara put together herself and this amazing veil and handmade dress!
Read MoreI always encourage people if possible to plan for a sunrise or sunset session. The light is delicious at that time. The summer days in Montana can be long, but if you are up for a late night adventure, I promise Lake Mcdonald in Glacier National Park will not disappoint.
Visiting with Alex and Anna was like a trip down memory lane. I attended the same school and we got to exchange stories which was really neat.
Anna and Alex were up or anything…well, I’m pretty sure Alex might have not been used to the Montana water temperatures, but he was a good sport!
Congratulations you two!
Read MoreI met Ben & Haley at their vacation rental in Essex, Montana. If you don’t know where Essex is, it’s a community nestled back in the forest between the Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park. It’s the perfect place for a first look and as you can see in these photos fall has started to kiss the mountains a little bit early. Depending on how the light hits these mountains, they look different every single day. Ben & Haley chose to seal their vows and express their commitment to each other in front of Pray Lake. It boasts of some ginormous mountains surrounding it although the lake itself is quite shallow. Sally of Marry Me in Montana did a great job officiating this time. It’s also fun to see her! . I loved getting to know Ben & Haley a little more, hearing of their adventures together, and house they are working on building! It was a splendid evening. Cheers!
